There are various symptoms that can be present with an elevated sodium level, depending on how elevated the level is and how long it is elevated. The most common symptoms are weakness, lethargy, irritability, edema(swelling), seizures, neurological damage, and coma. It is important to treat the high sodium before the symptoms get too severe.

If there is a high sodium intake, you will most likely feel dehydrated most of the time. You might not pee as frequently either as your body has no fluid to rid of. A dry mouth will force you to chug glasses of water and you will do this until your body takes in enough water to reach an equilibrium.
