Charter schools can concentrate on certain areas of study, or have disciplinary standards that may be a good fit for your child. However, they often hire young or underexperienced staff who are not prepared to fulfill the charter school's advertised goals.

Charter (not charger) schools stress the 'basics' in terms of reading, writing and maths and concentrate on classic works. The missing factors are usually creativity and art.

Pro of charter schools, they are specific (ie. arts, science). Con of charter school is that your child gets in by lottery and not by aptitude.
