The major mythological reference for today is adams bridge which can be seen even by satellites. This was considered to be built by hindu god ram when he went to srilanka in search of his wife sita who was kidnapped by demon king ravana who resided in srilanka.

Many myths are around. If you read, they are there, in movies and TV too. Read about Carl Jung's Archetypes and Joseph Campbell's works and you will find myths everywhere. Star Wars is one mentioned a lot. Anything that resounds with a mass amount of people, usually is myth worthy.
