The foundation was a strong emphasis on the importance of cohesive and somewhat authoritative family life coupled with education that would help a person to develop into a valuable member of society. the beliefs are quite conservative with deep respect given to authority figures, be it parents or the government.People will differ due to education and environment.

Believe human beings are teachable. Importance of virtue. Must develop toward moral perfection. One should give up their life to uphold moral values of ren (humanity) and yi (righteousness).

The major source of the beliefs are that the means must justify the ends of actions, and that it is more important to help others then oneself.
