Alto's Lament is a song from the historical perspective of the alto range. Being that music is traditionally composed from the top-down range-wise (i.e. sopranos have the melody and basses get to go "dum, dum, dum") the alto range has typically been neglected and wrongfully so. Alto's Lament is a song about the biases of historical lyrical tradition.
