What are the little mosquitoes flying around my house?

These are commonly called "little house mosquitoes" and there are 50+ species. They like sharing human indoor spaces and find breeding spots inside if possible. They are household nuisances and spread may spread diseases, including west nile virus. Adult females can lay up to 200 at one time; they hatch in about two days. Females need the blood, not males.

Those small little mosquitoes are commonly called gnats they are a small insect that usually lives with many others. Some groups of gnats are found in the thousands but in urban and suburban areas usually in groups of ten to a hundred. They usually do not bit but have a tendency to fly toward moving things like people.
