These green worms in your tomato plants called the tomato hornworm,a large caterpillar that grew about 4 inches long.The evolve of this insect is the hummingbird moth.

They are tomato worms or horn worms. They eat your tomato plants. Much to my distress my grandmother used to cut them in half.
