Prepare jars by running them for a rinse on hot in the dishwasher or boil in water for 10 minutes. Lids should be held in hot water (but not boiled) for 5 minutes. Wash, peel, and slice pears. Place pears in boiling syrup or pear juice-5 minutes. Pack into jars, cover with 1/2 in. of juice. Cover and tighten lids.

Canning pears is very similar to other fruit. Always use ripe pears. Boil the cans and lids to ensure they are sterile. Create the sugar solution and place the pears in it. Then pour the mixture into the cans. Finally, boil the sealed cans to ensure proper sterilization during storage.

Start with a pear. Slice the pear into small slices. Carefully place them in an appropriately sized can (get as many in there as you possible can). Add a syrup so that the pears do not dry out. Then place a lid on top of the can and make sure that you have a tight seal.

Make a sugar and water solution by boiling together. Peel and cut pears and put lemon juice over them. Put jars in boiling water bath for twenty minutes.

Cook the pears almost done as just pears or as jam, put them in jars, then put on rings and seal with heat.
