My SIL had the same result, and went through a battery of testing, and worry, only to deliver perfectly healthy little girl. Enlarged kidney can mean too much fluid, not properly functioning, in addition to other complications. Ultrasounds can be misleading at times, even to the professionals, which in turn causes alot of worry to parents-to-be.

It could be a bad thing if your baby's kidney is enlarged. It sounds like they're going to look again to make sure though.

It is most common in boys to have an enlarged kidney(s). More often then not they are born perfectly healthy. The doctor should monitor you very closely with consistant ultrasounds.
