The mountain ranges are Adirondack, Catskill, Ramapo, Shawangunk and Taconic. The Taconic, Shawangunk and Ramapo are part of the Appalachian mountain range. The Adirondack Mountains are part of the southern extension of the Laurentian Mountains of Canada.

The five mountain ranges in the state of New York are the Airondacks, Catskills, Ramapos, Shawangunks, and Taconic. Also New York state also has some of the Appalachian mountains as well.
