Question by  lovelizzy (170)

Where are the Appalachian Mountains? Are they part of another range?

I am trying to figure out how they are related to the Smoky Mountains.

The Appalachian chain stretches about 1500 miles, from Alabama to southern Canada. It contains many sub-ranges, including the Green and White Mountains in New England, the Cumberlands in Tennessee and Kentucky, and the Blue Ridge. The Blue Ridge, in turn, contains Shenandoah National Park at its northern end, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in its southern end.
