What are the disadvantages to all-in-one printers?

The problem with all-in-one printers is that it's all-in-one. If it breaks down, you're pretty much screwed on printing, scanning, and whatever else it does. Also, you might find that some features are unnecessary, especially if you have an alternative free source such as a library or college to print/scan.

Some people don't want the additional features of all-in-one printers. They may have no need for the other features, or they might already have the other features elsewhere.
