HIV can be contracted through blood or other bodily fluids (such as vaginal secretions or breastmilk). The most common way to contract it is blood contact, including shared needles, unsafe sex, or other exchanges of blood.

Sexual intercourse is the most stereotypical manner. In fact any exchange of fluid from infected person to anyone may cause HIV infection. It is important to note that HIV may result in AIDS. HIV and AIDS are not synonymous. Many people are infected with HIV and never develop AIDS sysmptoms.

HIV is contracted through the exchange of bodily fluids. The most common methods of transmission are through blood contamination (e. g. , using a hypodermic needle used by someone with HIV)and sexual intercourse. Thus, HIV tends to be more prevalent among substance abusers and among people who engage in unprotected sex.

People can contract HIV if they come into contact with a HIV infected person's blood in some way. The most common and well known way to contract HIV is through sex with an infected person, but this can also occur if a person is sharing needles with someone with HIV
