Tulip, Flute, Rhin, Port, Sherry, and All Purpose are all different types of wine glasses. Depending on occasion and the type of wine, you can select the appropriate glass. The glasses also help the taster observe the color of the wine that they are tasting. For example, "All Purpose" glasses are used for red wine.

Low rounded glasses are for reds, tall flutes are for white. Champaign for champaign. Ripple doesn't need a glass; drink from the bottle (but take that with a grain of salt).
