Ink-jet printers print by spraying dots of ink onto page. Laser printers shine laser onto a drum, the drum then goes through toner, which pick up ink, and then is passed onto page. Label printers are for labels specifically. LED/LCD printers is same as laser printers but but LED printers use light and LCD use liquid crystal to charge drum.

There are several types of printers that people use today including the Dot Matrix, the Laser, the ink jet and the desk jet.

There are 3 main types of at home printers. They are dot matrix, laser, and inkjet. The inkjet is most common and allows for printing in both black/white and color.

When talking about computer printers their are close to twenty different types of printers, although all of them are not common. The most common is the inkjet or laser printer.
