An aquatic ecosystem is one such as a coral reef, freshwater, pond, marine or swamp. Desert ecosystems can include coastal, cold, hot and dry or semi-arid deserts. A forest ecosystem may be coniferous, rainforest, deciduous or temperate. There are also grasslands like prairies, savanna, pampas, veld, steppes or temperate grassland. Another ecosystem is tundra, like the arctic or alpine.
