Some accountants take care of full charge bookkeeping and tax. Others handle separate functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll,and tax as separate functions. A CPA is certified to sign and verify that corporate fiancial statemens are accurate and correct.

Accountants can offer an array of services, including public accountants who specialize in tax work, audit work, and advisory services for clients or individuals, corporate or industry accountants who specialize in consolidation and reporting for public or private firms, and goverment accountants serving in a reporting or tax auditing role.
