As long as your postcard is no more than 4X6, it costs $0.28 to mail a postcard within the United States. A larger postcard (up to 6X11.5) is $0.44. International postcards are $0.98.

The current rate (as of February 2010) is $0.28 for a normal sized postcard and $0.44 for a large sized postcard (11 1/2 inches by 6 1/8 inches). You can buy postcard stamps at the post office or online.

The best way to determine this is to go to your nearest post office. Normally it's around 28 cents unless the card is over specified limits.

USPS classifies cards that are between 3.5-4 inches high and 5-6 inches long and that are 0.007 inch thick as postcards, and if your postcard meets those specifications, you can mail it domestically for $0.28, to Canada for $0.75, to Mexico for $0.79, and other countries for $0.98.
