Since processed dog foods don't carry quite enough Omega 3's, cod liver is a great supplement because it fights inflammation and is good for heart, joint, and brain health.

Fish oils contain Omega 3 fatty acids and are very good for your dog's heart and other organs. Also these oils will be very helpful to prevent dry skin and are good for eczema if your dog should have that or other skin conditions. Listen to your vet! He or she knows what's good for your dog.

For dogs, the Omega 3 in cod liver oil supports joint and cardiovascular health as well as helping keep a shiny, healthy skin and coat. The Vitamin A in the oil supports vision health and boosts the immune system. The Vitamin D in the oil helps maintain your dog's bone health.

It helps with the digestive tract ans well as it will stop some dogs from eating their own droppings. It also lubricates the digestive tract so that the dog will not become costipated which is a big problem for a lot of older dogs and young puppies. You could do a net search and get more info.

Cod Liver Oil is often good for a dog's skin and coat, it helps keep the skin healthy and give the coat shine. I don't recommend giving them too much though, just a little in their food once a day should work.
