Can you give cod liver oil to dogs?

If not, what should I use?

If you can get your dog to take it, it's good for its skin and coat. Also good is fat trimmed from meat, bacon and fat drippings, and lard, especially if on a diet of dry food. But not too much fat, not more than half a cup per week is good for large dogs, less for small ones.

Yes, as a matter of fact is recommended as part of a dog's diet by vets. Cod liver oil is good for dogs hair, their skin, and their bones. But you should discuss the amount proper for your dog with your vet, over doing it could cause problems.
