Stobe lighting does not stay on; rather it is a brief flash. Strobe lights are generally more difficult to setup. However, they do not get overheated because it does not stay on for long periods. The continuous lighting, on the other hand, is much easier to set-up and endures for longlasting tasks, though it is prone to overheating.

Continuous lighting is the normal lighting most homes and businesses have, where there is even, consistent lighting. Strobe lights flicker, causing an unsettling effect and uneven lighting. Strobe lighting has been known to cause seizures and is predominantly a way to create a certain atmosphere rather than a good way to actually increase visibility.

Continuous lighting is always on and emits a constant stream of light. Strobe lighting flashes intermittently, but rapidly, producing a strobe effect.

Strobe lighting is a fancy word for a flash from a camera, and continuous lighting refers to lights that are constantly shining (ex. house lights)
