It can cause some fuel delivery problems and the SES light might not work properly. You will get bad gas mileage. Sparkplug misfire is also one of the common problems.

A faulty MAP sensor can cause some fuel delivery problems and not turn on the SES light. Some other symptoms are bad gas mileage, engine hesitation, sparkplug misfire, or trigger the SES light. The best bet if you suggest the MAP sensor is bad is to check the engine codes.

The map sensor is used to measure to pressure in the manifold. If the sensor goes bad then the engine will run rough and you will notice power loss.

These symtoms may occur when the map sensor is bad: Surging, rich fuel which could foul the spark plugs, loss of power, poor fuel economy, and Detonation due to too much spark advance and a lean fuel ratio.

Your first problem is going to be the light is on. You are going to experience poor miles per gallon and you will probably be stalling out a lot if you are in idle.
