It should be on or near the throttle body or on the fire wall. Check any vaccum lines coming off the intake manifold and trace them to their final destination. One should be hooked to the MAP sensor which is a little black box 3" x 1½" inches in size.

It depends on the year of the vehicle. Your best bet would be to purchase a haynes or service manual at your local auto store. You would also then have the knowledge of how to service the MAP sensor, test it, and also replace it! It would also have the diagnostic codes.

It is on the side of the engine facing the front of the car near the top. It is next to the battery. It has a hose coming from it.

MAP sensor for a Pontiac Grand Am located next to the throttle body has 3 wires orange/black, light green, and a brown. if it's a 3800 v6 then it's on the front of the upper intake. if it's a 3100 then it is at the firewall side of the upper intake by the coil packs.

This is a real MAP day since the last question was about the location of the MAP sensor in a Buick. In fact, it was a 96 Buick, which meant the sensor was by the master cylinder. Since you have a Pontiac Grand Am, it is located below the front hood.
