Some tips to improve your vertical leap would be to work out the muscles in the legs, namely the calve and quadricep muscles. Lunges, squats and toe raises will help.

Constant work out on the legs would be the key to improve vertical leap, working it out does not mean to build heavy muscle but to strengthen them. High leapers have very thin legs however they are strong, and also improving your vertical leap requires muscle memory. Proper work out on this would immediately improve your leap.
