Understanding what is expected should be your starting point. Ask your teacher clarifying questions while in the classroom. Next, find a peer(s) with which to collaborate. Homework/study groups provide opportunities to deepen your understanding, review each other's work and prepare for exams.

Develop good organizations skills, record all homework and bring home all materials. When home keep all supplies in one area and develop a routine for getting your homework done.

Know your limits and abilities with learning. Set up time frames to study small segments of information, always review/test yourself after you have studied, always set a reasonable goal.

Take detailed notes in class and at the end of every day, re-write the notes. Study what you learned that day. If you have any questions, ask the teacher.
