First, make sure to clean your jewelry. Usually water and a mild dish soap like Dawn will do just fine. If you are selling fine jewelry, take it to several different placesto find the best resale price. Check out pawn shops that have a good reputation, and look in the yellow pages for jewelry stores that buy used jewelry.

Get everything appraised by yourself at a location separate to whom you are selling your things. For example don't trust the pawnshop to tell you the worth of your items, go somewhere else first.
