You have to be very fast (especially in coverage and reacting to the ball and receivers), good at tackling, have good football vision (especially in reading the quarterback, and also, anticipating plays), and in some cases, switching up coverage if you can read what the formation and anticipated play is going to be.

You'll mostly be defending the run. Get to the outside of a rush to force a runner inside where there's help. Shoot gaps between linebackers after o-line pick them up.
