One symptom is loss of weight. Weight loss is to the extent where your thyroid is over active and is losing to much weight.

If your thyroid is hypo (Sluggish) you can have: dry hair, skin and nails, hair that does not grow, fatigue, weight gain and depression.

Fatigue, constipation, dry skin, hair loss mean too little thyroid hormone. Insomnia, excessive perspiring, bulging eyes, scant or no menstrual period, shaking hands mean too much thyroid hormone.
