Making them say how they feel as soon as the problem arises and asking them what they think should be the solution. Involving them in decision making is the key.

My class loved my idea of putting a golfball into a dixie cup. It teaches patience and hand eye coordination in a fun way .

I think playing with kids, go outside with them and perform the work what they like most might be appropriate for child. At the same time they have to feed when they cry and hungry.
