When you meet a person online you should never give our your real name, social security number, or any other personally identifying information. If the person you meet online insists on meeting in person, it should be done in a public place and it is preferable to bring a friend.

You should make sure you meet in a very public place such as a bookstore or a coffee shop. Never tell the person your address or meet by your home.
