I recently moved and need help to meet new people.

The best way to meet people after you move is to look into the local directory for groups that have similar interests to you. If you have a hobby that you really enjoy, check out your local directory and see if there's a group for it.

If you have a dog, you can go to a dog park. You already have something in common with the people there, so striking up a conversation will be easy. Take a class at a local community college or community center. Start going to lunch or happy hours with co-workers.

This is a two birds with one stone answer. Join a health club. The people will be nice and look good and you will get in better shape. Great motivation.

Groups that are specifically for singles or for meeting people are often full of people with poor social skills. Instead, join activities that interest you, like a place of worship (try Unitarian if you aren't "religious"), cooking class, sports league, community choir, volunteer somewhere, etc.

I strongly endorse this comment! Sign up for a pottery class, join a bike riding group, maybe even a running group, they're fun and you'll make heaps of friends. Good luck!  add a comment

Local church organizations have always been a great way to meet new and interesting people while in a friendly and familiar environment.
