Intelligence is defined differently for different animals, but if we are going by 'most human like' then that will be the obvious and most often cited is the chimpanzee. But just as smart but not well known is the family of birds known as Corvidae. These are crows, magpies, ravens, jays and nutcrackers. As well as the African Grey Parrot.

Some of the smartest animals include members of the octopus family, dogs, elephants, and tropical birds, many of whom have reasoning powers well more than would be expected for their brain to body ratio. Cetacians in general are also known to be among the most intelligent animals. Apes are also smarter.
