It really depends on your needs. If you are retired and just looking for something to do, alot of restaurants and department stores hire host/hostesses, or even at Wal-Mart for door greeting. Wal-Mart, as a matter of fact, is an excellent company that employs several people over the age of 50.

If you are in good health, any job is an option now. If not, consider telemarketing, bill collections through the phone, data entry, or substitute teaching.

The biggest factor in choosing a job shouldn't be your age, but you yourself: what do you like, what are your dreams, and what are your talents? However, if you require special considerations due to age-related health matters, such as impaired night vision or poor endurance, these can limit your choice of jobs.

An individual in his or her fifties looking for employment might be wise to look into becoming either a full time or substitute teacher with their local public or private school.
