One MIL that I know learned to drive very late in life after becoming a widow. Shortly after passing her driver's test, she took her daughter-in-law on a drive and accidentally left her behind.

She sends me articles about all the horrible ways that children can be harmed or injured by common household items. She is trying to be helpful, but it's crazy.

Many mothers in law start asking about grandchildren the moment the wedding bells ring. My mother in law wanted multiple grandchildren; she then asked when I would be having the next one, while in labor with the first.

My mother in law is a borderline personality, and a serious co-dependant personality. Once, she thought she had the right to send our kids to the corner because they did not "share" toys with each other. We told them if she ever tries again, to come back home immediately.
