Apart from timothy-based pellets (alfalfa for babies) and unlimited timothy hay daily, feed about 1c of vegetables daily. Use: romaine/leaf lettuce (NOT iceberg), parsley, cilantro, kale, cornhusk, bell peppers, cucumber, dandelion greens, grass. Less often: oranges, bananas, apples, carrots, berries, broccoli, tomatoes. No onion, dairy or meat products.

Good foods for guinea pigs are good quality hay, fresh vegetables and cubes of fruit. Never feed chocolate (poisonous to them),cookies, cereals bread or grains, or any kind of human junk foods, because this can cause death from enterotoxaemia, growth of bad intestinal bacteria.

Vegetables and fresh fruit such as carrots, lettuce, apples and sometimes parsley are great for their diet but do not provide anything with potatoes or potato peelings as that may poison your pet.

Guinea pigs love fresh fruits and vegetables, especially carrots, but they could get sick on dried fruits and vegetables. Iceberg lettuce is not good for guinea pigs, since it is high in nitrates.
