The best way to discipline children is to remove them completely from the environment they are disrupting. It is attention they are seeking from their peers and this negates that.

Children over the age of 8 can be placed in a quiet and dark room, unless they are special education students. They can write "I am sorry" a hundred times. They can be required to clean up the mess they made. They can be required to stand up in front of the group and apologize.
