If you are decorating a bedroom, there are a lot of pink and brown or robin's egg blue and brown combinations that are very appealing and very popular. Brown is a great neutral color, and goes with many choices. Light blue and brown is a classic combination.

An awesome combo with brown carpet (popular for apt's) would be expresso and black accents with antique white or tan walls, bold molding painted glossy white, accented in Teal and silver blues! Just a bit of burnished red in there also. Pictures and books in those colors repeat the theme.

Use a light blue color on your walls, paint the trim the same brown as the carpets. Decorate with furniture that is a light beige and accent with blue pillows. Add some accent pieces in a dark blue or navy.

We had a living room with brown carpet; we warmed it up with a light peach color on the walls and some ivory drapes. If you prefer you may consider different shades of browns and tans with some ivory thrown in. You could use animal prints. You could go coffee shop, complete with pictures of coffee.

Use light colored paint on the walls and white paint for the baseboards and ceiling. This will lighten the room. Also use light colored drapes. Use medium sized furniture, not the heaviest, biggest you can find.
