What are some considerations for next to house flower beds?

First consider the amount of light. Popular plants for shade include ferns, lily of the valley, inpatients, and hostas. Sedum, gladiolas, and day lilies are good for sun.

If placed near a door do not plant flowers which attract bees. too much watering near the base of your house could cause structural damage. Mulch is needed

Here is a list: size of garden, proximity to the house, drainage, sun exposure, foot traffic,pets,climate, annual rainfall and quality of soil, it may need beefing up.
