What are some causes for dogs to have loose bowels?

You have to be careful what you feed your dog. Too many treats, pork, vegetables, and fruit are some ways. They could also be sick.

I have found with my dogs that a change in their dog food can cause loose bowls. If there diet has not been changed they could have a simple virus, or they may have ate something out doors or something off of the floor that has caused their bowls to be interupted.

The reason for this is one of many reasons. It could be that you have changed their food on them and didn't do it gradually. They may have gotten into human food that doesn't agree with them. You may have given them canned food. See if you have changed any of the above.

A change of diet is the most likely culprit in the case. Alternatively, a diet too high in fat or fiber could do this. If your dog expresses other symptoms such as fever, lethargy, or facial swelling, this could be indicative of larger problems. If the problem persists, take your dog to a vet.
