Diarrhea or loose stools can be a symptom of an underlying condition. This could also be because of certain medications like metformin. The best thing you can do is to see your primary care physician. He can order special tests to make sure you are ok. Also having your gallbladder out can cause chronic loose stools.

This could indicate a disease or could be the result of an extremely high fiber diet. If there has been a change in your bowel habits, then I would advise you to see your doctor.

If it happens more than three days in a row, you should see a doctor. It is possible that all that is needed is a change in diet.

It may indicate a problem. The best way to determine this is to carefully watch you diet. Change it around and note if there is any change in your stools
