A garden should accomodate what you are planting. There should be at least a foot of space between rows, to make it easier to hoe weeds.

Proper Gardening measurements include the growth and properity of the garden. Since cleanliness is the most important part of any gardening, it also has its own part of any proper garden. Anyone for that matter should be able to observe and feel the goodness of the garden.

I have never heard of it the way you do it is figure out what you are putting in and how much then figure how much room you think it will take to do it.
