The standard belief is that 10% of a person's total gross income should go to the church, following the Biblical adage that that amount should be rendered to God.

As with most dominations, there is quite a wide spectrum of beliefs and practices in the Pentecostal movement. Often there is quite a fundamentalist approach to scripture and this makes tithing more likely but there are also some extremely liberal pentecostal communities where tithing is not usual.

On the whole, Pentecostals take the Bible as the literal word of God. Following biblical principles, Pentecostals tithe 10% (or more) of their income to the church. By giving God the amount He requests, Pentecostals believe that God will be even more generous with them.

A lot of tithing beliefs are based on the book of Malachi, chapter 3,verses 8 & 9 which basically states that if you don't give God the 10% of your increase you are robbing God and are under a curse. This is based on God's law given to Moses. Some believe giving the tithe allows you to be blessed.

Pentecostals believe that you should tithe 10% of your income. This is usually considered pre-tax, not post-tax. Offerings given from unexpected blessings, such as a surprise bonus or windfall, is encouraged but not required.

Pentecostal people are very strongly encouraged to tithe 10% of their income to the church. They believe that God will multiply their donation exponentially.

Generally, Pentecostal churches and denominations teach that tithing is a biblical mandate, and require members to pay 10% to the local church.

Most Pentecostal churches, like most Bible-believing churches, hold to the tenet that tithing is a biblical mandate. It is usually a membership requirement that you will faithfully give 10% of your income to the church as a tithe.

Wow...how sad to think that 10 of millions of professing christian are deceived into believing that tithing is a mandate for believers today. It's even more sad that so called pastors and church leader are behind this foolishness. Those who tithe, simply dont have a revelation of Jesus!
