What you heard was likely someone's opinion about Pentecostal beliefs and doctrine. In reality, they are no more or less doctrinally valid than any other denomination. That doesn't mean you have to agree with them, it just means that you acknowledge you each take something different from the Bible.

Every denomination bases its doctrine on interpretations of the Bible, as do the Pentecostals. The differences lie in interpretation of scriptures, however some would suggest that certain interpretations are non-Biblical.
