Papasan refers to a large scale rattan frame, usually round or oval, that has a single large comfy cushion. The frame sits on a separate rattan base so that the frame can be moved to the desired angle. Papasans are available in chair, loveseat and even sofa sizes.

In Asia, the term "San" is a term of respectfulness. AS to furniture, it's a style of chair thats wide, heavily padded and especially comfortable for dear old dad.
