The Windsor/rush chair was created in the 18th century. There are 6 types of Windsor chairs (low back, comb back, hoop back, fan back, loop back and the New England arm chair). The rush seat is woven from a natural cord-like material (bullrush, willow, bark, grass, etc. ).

The earliest rush seat Windsor chairs date from the late 18th century, starting around 1790. They were made up through the mid 19th century, then went out of fashion. But then they were made again (as "retro" in the early 20th century, and intermittently since. You'll need an expert to look at the assembly methods to date yours.

The information I have been able to find on this type of chairs tells me it came from the 18th and early 19th centuries. Without knowing its condition it is impossible to know its value.

The Windsor chair was first designed and built in the 17th century. It was originally from the Bershire, England area.
