Nuvaring is a very good form of birth control it is effective as the pill when used properly. So your chances of getting pregnant are between 1-2 percent. But it could happen just like any other birth control it's not 100%. It can be dangerous to be pregnant with the ring in so you should talk to your doctor.

If you are using the product according to the directions the Nuvaring is 99% effective. The directions are to insert the ring in the vagina for 3 weeks then remove the ring for 1 week when you will likely have a "period" and then to insert the next ring and leave in for 3 weeks. See your doctor!

Nuvaring works by altering your uterus's mucus membranes. Not sure it's 100% effective the first month you use it. Also, it's not effective during your cycle.
