What are great audition pieces for children?

Audition for what? A musical ensemble, a singing group, a theater group, a dance ensemble? Ask your child what he or she wants to do. Let him/her choose a bit that s/he feels comfortable and accomplished doing. That is key.

Depends on what you're auditioning for. Piano pieces have a grade from 1-6, 6 being the hardest. For most other instruments, the grade is 1-5. You want to try and aim for something along the lines of a grade 2 for most kids. You can find out what grade a piece is online.
