Fauxhawks are like mohawks only you do not shave the sides of the head. The sides are cut short and the middle is a little bit longer than the sides.

A fauxhawk is when someone has a full head of hair but combs the hair to the middle, so the hair vaguely resembles a mohawk. This is often attained by using gel or hairspray.

A fauxhawk is a hairstyle. It's when someone gels their hair to resemble a mohawk, but doesn't actually have the shaved head except for the mohawk. They can style differently.

Fauxhawks are the new Mohawk it seems. From teens, to businessmen, to David Beckham, it seems everyone now days it sporting one. A fauxhawk is simply a mohawk, but instead of shaving the sides clean, you leave shorter hair in the front and back (usually a #2-#4 clipper works well). Fade the sides into the top and add texture.

In order to make a fauxhawk, you need to shave the sides of the hair down, but not all the way to the skin, and leave the top a little longer so you can create a mohawk look.
