Have a closet of rainy day arts and crafts as well as games and blocks that you do not bring out unless it is raining. Toddlers love to finger paint.

Play board games, do flash cards, watch an educational program on television, invite some of their friends over to play, etc.

Mine loves to watch the storm, especially if it gets really heavy, and we pretend that we are rain drops being blown in the wind. Anything to keep him moving!

The one you do not want to do is to entertain him all the time. You need to let his play on his own. Trucks, Building Blocks, Books, Lego's.

At home we teach games like hide and seek or showing him how he can help out around the house. He can do the basics like put clothes in a basket. We have a membership at the local community center where we take him to the play gym and meet up with others. Mall play gyms are good option.

Create an indoor playground using boxes as an obstacle course. You could also get a very large box, such as one for appliances, then cut out the bottom so she has a tunnel to go through.
