What advice can you give a parent dealing with a cursing teenager?

If you don't. want them to curse, punish them. Start fining them for every word you don't like coming out of their mouth. They should stop it hurts their pocketbook.

First, you need to set a good example. If you curse, you can't ask them not to. Next, you need to point out every time that they do. Be firm.

Make sure you are not cursing as well, you know, monkey see, monkey do. Then just simply do not tolerate it, tell them that it is not acceptable, embarrasing and will not be tolerated. There has to be consequences. If they do not stop they will lose the cell phone or the computer or driving the car for a week.

Don't scream at him, this would make him more upset. Try to understand him and talk with him about his real problem, because there must be one.
